Gatorade vs. Snake Juice which would you drink?

First of all...I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice.  This is just my experience only so take it for what it is worth.  🤓 

Those who know me well know that I am an avid CrossFitter.  I drank the Kool-Aid about 3 and a half years ago and haven't looked back.  One thing I swear by these days is Snake Juice.  Sounds kinda freaky huh? It’s not really snake juice.  I have no idea really why it is called that because it has nothing to do with snakes and doesn’t remotely taste like juice.

It DOES have to do with electrolytes!  Why is it a question between the two?  Well they are basically the same thing but one, Snake Juice, is without all the sugar and only has 5 ingredients.  This is what I drink all day long every day...now...

2 years ago I was at my CrossFit class doing rope climbs and when I was half way up the rope, BAM! 🥴 My calf cramped horribly. One of those I can't move kinda cramps and I was hanging on for dear life with my arms.  Not a fun situation when you are hanging from a rope and supposed to be using your legs.  Luckily I got down with the help from my coach and was able to get rid of the cramp.  I went home and knew I needed to fix this.  It was happening too often.  Usually in the right calf and in my feet.  I wasn’t about to go to the doctor and take a pill for it.  I had a feeling my body was missing something or some things in regards to minerals. 

Pat had started the keto program and suggested Snake Juice.  I thought he was joking but hey, I was willing to try it! 🐍🐍🐍

I will be honest, at first the taste is NOT like Gatorade.  If you are a Keto fan, you won’t have a problem since you eliminate sugar anyway.  Most people are not keto so drinking something like this without sugar can be hard at first.  It’s salty and warm-tasting...if that is even a thing??? I compare it to milk with ice.  Again, most people would hate that but in all honesty that is how I used to drink milk!

Now when I drink it, I don’t taste that at all.  If you start drinking it, use half of the recipe first to build up your tolerance to it.  I am sure some of you think I am crazy.  The fact that I now do not have cramps is well worth what people might say.   I typically do not feel light headed anymore either.  Pretty crazy stuff and it's all natural ingredients.  

That’s one of the most important things to me.  I don’t use any expensive powders before or after my CrossFit workouts.  It’s not natural to do that.  I want to be healthy doing exercise, eating right and drinking things that don’t have ingredients I can’t even pronounce.  I am litterally in the best shape of my life and I am the big 50!  I am stronger than I EVER was when I was younger.  

Hopefully my experience can help you too!   Again, I am not a doctor and can’t tell you if it is good for you or not.

I have included the recipe below with links to the products on Amazon.  You CAN find all of this on your own but I thought it would be nice to allow you to find it fast.  In a 2L water bottle mix the following ingredients together.

Water=2L
Potassium chloride =1 tsp (No Salt)
Sodium chloride = 1/2 tsp (Himalayan Pink Salt)
Sodium Bicarbonate = 1 tsp (Baking Soda)
Magnesium Sulphate = 1/2 tsp (Food Grade Epsom Salts)
